Fresh, Fun Winter Outfit Ideas

- Sunday, December 29, 2013

As we end the holiday season and greet the new year, it’s natural to focus on fresh starts and setting goals. In addition to the standard New Year’s Eve resolutions (and the exciting style and beauty resolutions), it might be fun to go through your closet and jewelry box to see how many new outfits you can create from pieces you already own. If you’ve been living in sweaters and jeans all winter, break away from those standard staples and get creative with your separates and chic jewelry. With a little creativity, you can easily maximize the contents of your closet.

1. Sequins aren’t just for holiday parties! You can incorporate them into your everyday ensembles—even your work outfits! Try pairing a sequin skirt with a soft sweater, tights and ankle boots. Or, wear a sequin tank top with a blazer and jeans. Top off the look with a Zig Zag Bangle, which has a subtle shine that won’t distract from the sparkling sequins.

2. Wearing all black is chic and stylish, if it’s done right. Play with textures and pair a black leather peplum top with black skinny pants. From there you can add color with some bright heels and a bold handbag. Gold jewelry like our Wave Bangle looks especially elegant when worn with a black outfit, but we also like the colorful contrast the Turquoise Labradorite Wrap will provide.

3. Some of your sleeveless summer dresses may work for winter. Simply add leggings, a long cardigan and a scarf and you’ll have an outfit that’s ready for a cold day. Just make sure any jewelry designs you wear aren’t too summery.

4. Wearing white all winter is in style this year—but have you tried blending black and white yet? Take a white chunky sweater, add a black skirt, wear some white tights and a black hat and you’ll have a look that’s totally Parisian-chic.

5. Did you buy in to the tartan plaid shirt trend of Fall 2013? Try wearing it with a knee-length leather skirt, ankle boots and a set of Studded Bangles. The edgy femininity of the leather skirt will offset the Western look of the plaid perfectly.

6. Slip on a long-sleeved white button-up shirt under a sleeveless dress. Whether it’s a black, plaid or printed dress, it will add trendy texture without creating extra bulk.

7. If you have a graphic sweatshirt, pair it with a skirt instead of your standard jeans. Then add some decorative flats and some Hollywood jewelry. The creative combination will be the definition of casual-chic.

8. You know that light, faux leather motorcycle jacket you haven’t worn since early October? Start wearing it as your outfit’s top layer instead of as a coat. You’ll add instant edge to any ensemble.

As we enter the new year, spend some time digging through your closet and finding creative clothing combinations. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to settle for subpar style.

Accessorize For New Year’s Eve With Pame

- Thursday, December 26, 2013

New Year’s Eve is the best time to dress up. Everyone is happy and in the mood to celebrate, and it’s one holiday where we’re actively encouraged to sparkle. But your cocktail dress or sequined top and leather pants are only part of the style equation—your accessories can really make or break your outfit, so choose wisely.

Here are a few ideas for pairing some of jewelry designs with your New Year’s Eve outfit:

If you’re wearing a sequined dress, keep accessories simple to let your dress steal the spotlight. For jewelry, we recommend sticking to a chic pair of earrings, like our Pave Hoops in Light Topaz Crystal.

If you’re going more casual and sticking to a sweater and pants combination, dress it up a bit with some celebrity jewelry: our Triple Pave Nugget Necklace and some bangles.

Perhaps your night calls for an on-trend ensemble like a blouse and a leather skirt. Add a statement piece, like a bold cuff or necklace to complete the look.

There’s nothing wrong with keeping it classic and rocking a little black dress in New Year’s Eve. Add some subtle sparkle with a pair of Green Beryl Drop Earrings

Style And Beauty Resolutions For 2014

- Friday, December 20, 2013

With less than two weeks remaining until we say hello to a brand new year, now is the time to focus on those 2014 resolutions. Oftentimes people focus on things like losing weight, saving more money or furthering themselves in their careers. And while those are all worthy and important goals, it’s also vital that we focus on the way we present ourselves to the world.

When we look good, we feel good. And when we feel good about ourselves, we’re much more likely to make positive changes in our lives and do nice things for others. Next year, try and develop your own personal sense of style—and if you’re already a fabulous fashionista, take your trendiness to new heights in 2014. Here are some ideas for style and beauty resolutions to inspire you:

1. Wash your face and moisturize before going to bed. Whether you’re 25 or 65, it’s very important to take care of your skin. Resolve to always wash your makeup off and slather on a good night cream.

2. Clean your makeup brushes at least every other Sunday. Bacteria and products can build up on your brushes easily, and it’s important to keep them clean.

3. Make an effort to learn at least one new makeup trend in 2014. Master the art of the smokey eye or finally learn to properly use liquid liner. Freshen up your face!

4. Expand your accessories collection. This could mean getting a few new scarves, buying a few belts or treating yourself to some Hollywood jewelry. Mixing up your accessories can alter the look of your entire outfit, so you’ll get more use out of your clothing.

5. Focus on your hands. So many women neglect their beautiful hands. Care for your cuticles, use lotion every day, get regular manicures and decorate those digits with some celebrity rings.

6. Break at least one fashion “rule” in 2014. These rules are made to be broken! Wear white after Labor Day, mix your prints… whatever makes you happy! Taking a risk once may inspire you to take more style risks in the future.

7. Learn to walk in high heels. Even if you’re a flats kind of girl, mastering the art of strutting in stilettos will make formal occasions less stressful.

8. Drink more water. This may not seem like a beauty or style resolution, but drinking more water throughout the day will make your skin glow and your skinny jeans fit.

9. Learn at least one new hairstyle in 2014. If you’ve got long locks, master the art of loose waves. If you have a bob, see if there’s a loose bun you can do.

10. This one is obviously our favorite: treat yourself to one new piece of chic jewelry per month (or every other month if you’re on a budget). You deserve to replace those cheap trinkets with investment pieces you can wear for years to come.

2013 Holiday Fashion Trends

- Friday, December 13, 2013

It seems like just yesterday we were putting together our outfits for Thanksgiving dinner, but Christmas is already on the horizon and it’s time to think about all those holiday parties. There’s no better time than the holidays to add a little glitz and glamour to your wardrobe. And just like fashion trends change every spring and fall, the holiday season always has its own style. Incorporate some of the 2013 holiday fashion trends into your party outfits this year.

This holiday season is all about indulging in the simple style luxuries. Soft velvet, cozy wool and luxurious faux fur, elegant laces, rich burgundy and luscious cream hues are all popular picks. Top off your ensembles with touches of sequins, rhinestones and glitter—and don’t forget to add the Hollywood jewelry.

Holiday Trend: Metallics

Sparkling is always in style during the holiday season, but this year the look grows up a bit. Metallics are on-trend this year, giving you all the shine without the uncomfortable embellishments. Women of all ages can wear metallics and look elegant. You can go all out and get a shimmery metallic dress. or wear a metallic top with a simple black skirt and shimmery ballet flats. Or just stick to shimmery accessories: metallic nail polish, belts and pumps will accentuate any ensemble. Our Pave Hoops with Smokey Quartz Crystals look beautiful paired with a metallic outfit.

Holiday Trend: Lace

When it’s worn correctly, lace is luxurious, beautiful and sexy. But if it’s overdone, you could end up looking like the tablecloth at Christmas dinner (or at least older than you’d like to). Luckily, this season’s lace statement pieces make it easy! Wear a full black lace skirt with a sweater in a pale nude or blush hue. Top it off with nude pumps, berry lips and some chic jewelry like our Venice Cuff in gold.

Holiday Trend: Retro Glam

It started with the release of The Great Gatsby earlier this year. Now, throwbacks to the 1920’s are everywhere, making every stylish woman look a little more glamorous. But it’s not really the outfits that remind us of the roaring 20’s—it’s the hair, make-up and accessories! Retro waves, sparkly brooches and shiny hair clips are all in style. We love the trend of feathers cropping up everywhere—feathered hair clips, handbags and even skirts are all perfect ways to incorporate the trend into an outfit. We’re also inspired by all the beautiful vintage jewelry designs.

Holiday Trend: Simple Chic Accessories

Perhaps it’s because shimmery clothing and feathered frocks are suddenly in style, but when it comes to this season’s jewelry trends, the idea is to keep it simple but chic. Instead of layering your necklaces as you would for an average evening on the town, stick to one sparkly statement necklace. Wear just one piece of jewelry, but invest wisely: think your most expensive pair of earrings or a necklace made from real leather. Think of your jewelry as a piece of art you’d like to show off, not just a subtle way to accentuate your outfit.

Hot Holiday Beauty Trends For 2013

- Friday, December 6, 2013

It’s hard to believe it, but in a few short weeks we’ll be saying goodbye to the year 2013. In the meantime, we’ll head to plenty of parties, attend some charity functions and celebrate the holidays with our loved ones. The holiday season is the perfect time to upgrade your style to something a little more magical. From the hottest holiday hairstyles to the perfect accessories, we’ll give you some inspiration for looking your best this time of year.

Hair Trends

Braids were huge throughout the year, and the holiday season is no exception. Get creative with the braided updos you’ve been wearing since summer by embellishing them with sparkly clips or small combs. If you prefer to wear your hair down and you’ve got some length, wear it sleek and straight with some product that makes it shine.

The top knot bun is also still trendy. Make it more festive with some small side twists. Wearing your hair in a top knot will make sure no one misses your chic celebrity earrings.

If you’re heading to a cocktail party or a glamorous gala, give your hair a deep side part and add some tight curls. Shake them out with your fingers and you’ll have elegant retro waves. Pin a sparkly clip on one side of your head and wear a pair of our Pave Hoops.

Make-Up Trends

When it comes to holiday make-up, two classic trends come to mind: red lipstick and glittery eyeshadow. Both are beautiful and elegant, though it’s best not to wear them at the same time. But for the 2013 holiday season, the trend to try is gold metallic eyeliner. Wear it both above and below the eye with a neutral eyeshadow and practically any lipstick.

For a lip color that will outlast every sip of champagne and every bite of sugar cookie, try a lip stain. Lip stains have stolen the scene this year, and they’re a perfect pick for the holiday season. Just make sure your lips are well moisturized before you apply, or try a dual formula that has a conditioning balm with the stain. Your color will last much longer that way.

Accessories Trends

This year’s holidays accessories have one thing in common: it’s all about the gold. Shimmery gold clutches, gold pumps and stilettos, gold watches and gold chains are the holiday party staples this year. Our gold Crushed Cuff With Green Moss Agate will add a chic shimmer to any winter ensemble, or you could complement your manicure with five golden rings.

2013 has been the year of ornate accessories, and the holiday season is known for its glitzy shimmer. So go ahead and pile on your best bling and your chic jewelry. Statement necklaces, chandelier earrings and unique bracelet designs are all popular picks this year. As always, just make sure to wear the accessories that best complement your outfit and make you
